IMPORTANT NOTE: If you are traveling to St. Barths through the Princess Juliana Airport in St Martin, even if you are not spending a night in St Martin, you will need to pre-register 24-48 hours prior to departure with EHAS (Electronic Health Authorization System ).
Once you complete the EHAS pre-trip registration and submit it, they will then send you a confirmation email authorizing you to enter St Martin. You will need this email in order to board your flight to St Martin.
Effective January 1, 2022
– FULLY vaccinated travelers who have been boosted, and children 17 and under who have been vaccinated, do not need to submit a covid test when filling out the EHAS form.
– If the test is an antigen test, it can be no older than 24 hours old. If the test is a PCR test, it can be no older than 48 hours old at the time of arrival.
– For unvaccinated travelers 17 and younger, only a PCR test will be accepted, taken no more than 48 hours prior to arrival in St Martin.
– Purchase of $30 medical insurance policy is required in order to complete the EHAS registration – however, those not spending the night in St Martin are exempt from this requirement.
WHEN DEPARTING TO RETURN HOME: When returning home via St Martin, if unvaccinated, you will also be required to submit a new covid-19 test result via EHAS to transit through St Martin.
There is a test center outside of the airport terminal which administers rapid antigen tests. However, please note that a traveler has to clear security to leave the airport, then upon being tested, one has to got back through security screening again. This can take 2-3 hours.
If you are traveling to St. Barths through San Juan, and you are not spending the night there, you do not need to complete the online travel request form required for travel to Puerto Rico. Just show your negative COVID-19 test result, and continue on to St. Barths. The same is true when you are transiting back through San Juan on your way home.
If you are spending one or more nights in Puerto Rico, you will need to apply for permission to enter, which requires proof of vaccination or proof of a recent PCR test.
Travel Safe Puerto Rico registration form
Almost all countries are requiring proof of a negative covid test result in order to enter, and St Barts is no exception. St Barts will accept either a antigen test (from no more than two days prior to arrival) or a PCR test (taken no more than three days prior to arrival)
We recommend using COVID testing centers run by your state, or those affiliated with large hospitals and university medical centers such as Weill Cornell Medicine in Manhattan, Yale New Haven Health centers in Connecticut, and Tufts Medical Center in Boston.
